You can see the ‘Create New Part’ and ‘Update Part’ options available in the new Create & Update tab within the Quoted Part Number modal.
Market Baskets Projects
For Market Basket opportunities, you will only be able to update existing Vallen part number details to use within your projects.
When on the ‘Create & Update’ tab, the ‘Update Part’ should be selected. If the line item is currently matched to a valid Vallen part number, then the fields in the tab will be pre-loaded with the details of this part number.
When ‘Update Part’ is selected, you will be able to edit, add, or not add any of the details in the fields within this tab. The only required field here will be 'Manufacturer Part Number’.
When parts are updated using the ‘Update Part’ feature, the updated part will display in the ‘Multiple Vallen Matches’ tabs under the ‘Updated Parts’ section.
To clear all fields and start from scratch, click on the Clear All Fields button in the ‘Part Options’ section.
The ‘Create New Part’ option and the ‘Vallen Part Number’ field in the new ‘Part Options’ section for Market Basket Projects will not be selectable and will appear greyed out.
Implementation Projects
For Implementations, you can update existing Vallen part number details, as well as add parts for new Vallen part number creation.
When the Create & Update tab is opened, by default the tab will be open with ‘Update Part’ selected in the ‘Part Options’ section.
If the line item is currently matched to a valid Vallen part number, the fields in the tab should be pre-loaded with the details of the currently matched Vallen part number. The ‘Vallen Part Number’ field will display in grey and you will not be able to type into this field when updating a part.
When parts are updated using the ‘Update Part’ feature, the updated part will display in the ‘Multiple Vallen Matches’ tabs under the ‘Updated Part’ section.
When ‘Create New Part’ is selected, this field will be editable. Additionally, even when the line item is currently matched to a valid Vallen part number, the fields in the tab will not be pre-filled with the details of the part number.
After the Create New Part feature is used and a new part is created, the system will now map the new part entered into the ‘Vallen Part Number’ field back within the Quoted Part Number cell.
To clear all fields, click on the Clear All Fields.
Auto-Populating 58 Code in Implementation Projects
When using the Create New Part feature for individual line items, if a 58 Code was added by an Admin to the project and a CPN exists for the selected line item, users (both Admins and Specialists) will be able to auto-populate the 58 Code in the Vallen Part Number field.
If the conditions above are satisfied, users can select ‘Create New Part’ in Part Options, select ‘58 Code’, then choose ‘Populate’.
When ‘Populate’ is selected, the system will combine the 58 Code and the CPN of the line item and will enter this number in the Vallen Part Number field.
Create New Part Permissions For ISR Users
The “Create New Part” feature in “Create & Update” will be grayed out and unselectable for all ISR users in VallenIQ (Super Admin, Admin, and Specialist user roles):
