You can create new lists that contain the same header information and lines as an existing quote, directly from the Project Management tab or the project view.
Please keep in mind that Duplicating from Project Management will duplicate all lines from a list. Duplicating from the Project View will allow you to choose all lines or a selection.
Duplicating lists from Project Management
To duplicate a list from the Project Management page, simply select the list on the far left column and click duplicate. Note that this feature cannot be used when more than one list is selected.
VallenIQ will create a copy of the list that has the same header information as the original quote.
This new list will also carry over the same title, but with (1) amended to the end.
Duplicating lists from Project View
You can access this feature by first opening a project, clicking on the Actions dropdown at the top of your list, then selecting Duplicate Project:
You will have two options when it comes to duplicating your lists:
-
Copy All Line Items
To copy all line items in your list into your duplicated project ensure that none of the line items in your list are selected:
Then open the modal below and click Duplicate Project:
-
Copy Only Selected Line Items
To copy only specific selected line items into your duplicated project, select the line items you want to include in your new list:
Then open the modal below, select Only Selected Lines, and click Duplicate Project:
Duplicated Projects
After completing the step above, VallenIQ will take you to the duplicated project. Here are some important things to note about your new project:
- The new project will have the same header details and settings as the original
- The naming convention will use the same name as the original project, but with a (1) appended to the end of the name. If you duplicate the original project again, the number for the new project will increment to (2):
- If you selected parent line items that have children lines associated with them (eg. alternates) or if you selected any children lines, both the parent and children lines will be copied into the new duplicate project:
Edit History
When Edit History is opened for a duplicated quote, the system will show the following new history event:
User Permissions
The ability to duplicate a project is based on the Role of the User:
| Role | Permissions |
| Super Admin |
|
| Admin |
|
| Specialist |

Duplicating Public Projects
When Super Admins and Admins duplicate public projects that belong to another user, the system will assign the user who duplicated the project as the Quote Owner.
All other quote header information will remain the same as the original quote (except Due Date).
Duplicating Private Projects
When Super Admins duplicate private projects that belong to another user, the system will assign the Super Admin who duplicated the project as the Quote Owner.
All other quote header information will remain the same as the original quote (except Due Date).
